Swisspearl® rainscreen cladding panels were the only cement composite panels that could meet the requirements for the new mountain top oasis, called “The Summit”.   The Location of the ski resort “Snowbird” is 11,000ft above sea level  in Salt Lake City Utah, set to be the highest building in the US.

Due to location and the extreme climatic conditions, this requires a cladding panel which is able to adapt to the fluctuating temperatures of heating and cooling.  This is why  Swisspearl® panels were the preferred choice as the panel adapts to these extreme changes.    A functional Swisspearl® ventilated facade also allows reduction in energy costs compared to traditional wall construction, this is achieved by preventing heat and cold accumulation less noticeable. Fibre cement composite cladding panels

In hot climates the cladding functions as a heat shield (no direct sun on the construction wall) together with the permanent ventilation provides natural air-conditioning and prevents heat build-up regardless of colour of the cladding panels and the same principle also applies to when external temperatures are lower.

  • The advantage of an exterior thermal insulation is to keep the entire building structure at a constant temperature and to minimize thermal bridges and thus reduce the loss of energy to a minimum. Economic as well as ecological advantages result.
  • The main task of the air cavity is the evacuation of moisture and excess heat. The air circulation occurs naturally thanks to the pressure difference between bottom and top.
  • The outer skin of the building envelope has two main functions; to be aesthetically pleasing as well as protecting against influences from climate and environment
